Burlington 2018 Election Voting Information
You can vote if you’re 18+, a Canadian citizen, and own or rent property. Check if you are on the voter’s list at the city of Burlington election website.
Everyone who is on the voters’ list will receive a Voter Information Notice, which includes:
- a unique Voter Identification Number (VIN) only for that voter
- the date, time and place of advance and regular voting day opportunities, including internet voting
- school support information
- information on how to internet vote
You should receive your Voter Information Notice/Letter by the end of September. If you haven’t received your Notice by Oct.1, or if the information on your Notice is not correct, please contact the City of Burlington Clerks Department at 905-335-7600, ext. 7481.
Election Day is Oct. 22. You can vote anywhere in your ward from 10am-8pm.
When you go to vote in person at the advance voting locations or on election day you must bring your:
- Voter Information Notice (VIN)
- Identification. Review this list of acceptable documentation for voter identification
All voters are required to show identification to receive a ballot. The identification must show your name and qualifying Burlington address. Photo identification is not required. If you can’t show acceptable proof of identity and residence, will have to take an oath prior to voting. Your VIN may not be used as identification.
