City of Burlington recruiting election workers
The City of Burlington will be hiring approximately 350 people to work as poll clerks, revision clerks, greeters and reserve workers during the 2014 municipal election.
“Working the municipal election is an interesting experience and a fantastic way to get involved with the City of Burlington,” said Angela Morgan, city clerk. “Previous election or census experience is considered an asset but we have new workers who join us each election. Full training and support is provided to all election workers.”
To work during the election, applicants must be available to work at both citywide advance voting dates, Oct. 8 and 18 or on Election Day, Monday, Oct. 27. Selected applicants will be invited to attend an interview and a mandatory training session. Successful applicants will be compensated after completing training and working their scheduled election shifts.
In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the City of Burlington accommodates individual needs of applicants with disabilities within the recruitment process. Please call the Election Officer at 905-335-7602, ext. 7862, or email election for accommodation to ensure equal participation in the recruitment and selection process.
Interested residents are encouraged to submit an application by July 14, 2014. For more information, visit www.burlington.ca/election .
